The Art of Shaving Body Wash (Tangerine) $22
Our Body Wash cleanses your skin very gently, compared to most other body wash products on the market that use sodium laurel sulfate, a harsh cleansing agent. We include very high quantities of pure extracts and vegetable oils, leaving your skin soft, moisturized and protected. Our Body Wash has neem extract, which has unique natural antibacterial and antifungal properties. This makes it an ideal product for use at the gym. Due to the innovative piston pump feature, the product can be dispensed at any angle.
How to use: While showering, lather up with one or two pumps of The Art of Shaving Body Wash using your hand, a washcloth or a loofah. Rinse and towel off. Then follow with The Art of Shaving Body Balm.
Ingredients. 6.7 oz.

Yeah, it's me again. I'm going to be 40 in July so I decided back in November to get to the Gym and get my 25 year old body back.

The first thing I noticed after working out for the first time back in November was that they had soap dispensers in the communal style showers. With every pump of the lever the dispenser spewed forth this greenish looking slop that had terrible lathering qualities, smelled like medicine, and left my skin feeling dry and tight. Come to think of it the scent is reminiscent of the green soap they use in hospital bathrooms. I hate it.

When I was handed a bottle of the Art of Shaving Body Wash (Tangerine) the first thing I did was pull the cap and the safety cap off and give it a whiff and was relieved. It smelled great. I’m a fan of marmalade so I was already starting to be sold on it. When I used it at the Gym on Monday I noticed that it lathered well, actually light years better than the reform school soap that came from the dispensers. It also rinsed clean but left my skin feeling moist, and not dry or tight. And did I mention the sweet orangey scent?

All in all I really, really liked it and I will continue to use it.
No matter where you go, there you are.

:D I have to say I really enjoy using this product. I was a shaving gel guy until I tried this stuff. I have tried other tub type shaving creams but this one is by far the best. I hopped out of the shower, toweled off, and then wrapped said towel around my waist. That is when I took a good look into the mirror. I had the Hobo thing going on again, sans the rail car and the bandana full of dirty socks tied to a stick. I thought to myself “hey!, lets try that AOS lavender shaving cream.” I applied some hot water with a face cloth to my face then threw a little extra on for posterity. I held the razor in my left hand and got a gob of the shave cream out of the tub with my right hand. I proceeded to rub in onto my face. The first thing I noticed was that it didn't feel greasy and that it actually built up a lather like I was using a bar of soap. I found this to be very pleasant because most of the tub type shaving creams that I have tried in the past did not lather, and felt like I was smearing bay rum scented margarine all over my face. AOS did not disapoint, as this product smells great!

When I put the razor to work on my beard the razor glided easily, cut through my facial hair without any drag. It only took a few splashes of water to rinse off the residual product and there were no signs of razor burn the next day. I am absolutely going to continue using this product.

AOS Lavender shaving cream left my face feeling soft and moisturized. It also helped me to get a very close shave. In fact so close that when I gave my wife a peck on the cheek later that evening while we were at the movies she noticed a difference.

I wonder if the Art of shaving folks make something for halitosis.

Just kidding.

:P I am not surprised that the aftershave gel performed well. I have not been dissapointed by an art of shaving product yet and again this one was no exeption.

The lemony smell was refreshing particularly because alot of scents and heavy perfumes bother my sinuses. This product did not bother me at all. I would reccomend this after shave gel to anyone who has the same type of nasal sensitivites that I do. If you must know just how sensitive my nose actually is, for example: I can't go into a fragrance bar with my wife at the mall and forget a candle shop.

I am very happy to have been introduced to this product line.I am absolutely hooked on all of them.

I shaved and then applied the product to my neck and beard it soothed my skin but did not burn. I did not end up with any razor burn at all nor did my pores feel clogged. It dried clean on my face, and neck It left me without the usual irritated sensation and raw looking neck that I often experience after a shave.

This one is going to remain in my shaving kit for the gym along with the other art of shaving products that I have reviewed. I am traveling this week on business and these products are going to help me make a great first impression.

I mean who wants to sit down an listen to a presentation by a guy who doesn't smell like a tangerine, lavender or a lemon and looks like a hobo because he can't get a close shave.

pre-shave oil

New postby The Stoneman on Mon Jun 11, 2007 1:37 pm

My wife brought this home for me to try. I am just a 40 year old guy who cuts stone all day, and used to use just shaving cream. Well now I will tell all of you use pre shave oil. It prevented any nicks I usally get and left my face a whole lot smoother. Smell was fine. It was a little hard to put the screw cap back on because of the oily hands. All I know is that I will use this stuff because my wife seemed to really enjoy the smooth later that evening!!

Body Balm
The Art of Shaving Body Balm moisturizes, nourishes and protects the skin. Tangerine essential oil, rich in Vitamin C, refreshes and energizes, while rare argan oil from Morocco adds strong anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Gotu kola extract relaxes tight muscles, and grapeseed extract maintains firmness and elasticity.
Tangerine Essential Oil
for all skin types
6.7 fl. oz - $28

I usually have very dry hands and I use this to rejuvenate them. I also use it on my arms. It leaves your skin feeling smooth, soft, and healthy. It also does not feel like there is a film left behind which is why I love it. The Body Balm also has a great smell of tangerine. It is not overpowering, but you can still smell it.

Art of Shaving Oil, Shaving Cream and Balm

New postby gymchick on Tue Jun 19, 2007 9:59 pm

I'm a 46 year old guy who previously used nothing but the plain old shaving cream - when Deb handed me the Art of Shaving to try, I took a look at it and when I saw the oil I thought no way am I going to like this, and was worried about the oil making me break out - but - I decided to give it a try - especially since I have sensitive skin and get ingrown hairs and reading about the product the oil was to help!
So - I've been using this for 2 weeks now - and I can't say enough about their products! The oil has a light scent - a little goes a long way and when you first put it on, it has a little bit of warmth to it. It really softens up your skin for the next step...The Shaving Cream - it glides on over the Oil - has a nice scent as well, and lathers up nicely - it gives the best shave ever - nice and close. The oil that you put on comes off in the shave/process. No oily residue - Then the After Shave Balm - light scent as well and feels great on the skin, I really feel rejuvenated - and not oily - All in all this kit leaves the skin soft as a babies bottom! I have had no ingrown hairs since using, and no break outs or razor burn. I really don't have a huge 5 o'clock shadow - and Deb has noticed a difference in the softness of my face!

After Shave Gel - Sandalwood

New postby chattio on Sun Jul 15, 2007 6:49 pm

I asked my brother for his feedback on this product and when he wouldn't give it back I realized that I had the information I needed. He's picky about his products - what man shouldn't be - so I knew we had a winner! The after shave gel was soothing and didn't burn and the sandalwood fragrance is very pleasant. He skipped cologne a few times and still received compliments that he smelled very nice. He also noticed that his skin isn't as dry and attributes this to the moisturizing, oil free gel formula. Looks like a gift set will make a nice birthday present.

Art Of Shaving Update.

New postby Aufaffe on Sat Sep 29, 2007 1:36 pm

After running out of the lavender shaving cream I went out and bought a tub of the Lemon scented shaving cream to match the balm that I had been given to test. I still use and love them both!

Again.

I would recommend this product to anyone with sensitive skin that wants a close shave. The balm does a great job of preventing those pesky razor burn bumps from rearing up.
